Mark is Founder, Chairman and CEO of The Pegasus Companies, a family of closely held companies active in solar and renewable energy, media and telecommunications, private equity and investments. Mark is an entrepreneur who has founded over forty companies and his business awards include recognition as Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year (National Nominee) in 1998. He has been a member of the Board of Directors and the Executive Committees of numerous industry and trade associations, has served on the Federal Communications Commission’s (FCC) Media Security & Reliability Commission and testified before committees of the US House of Representatives and the US Senate.

Mark’s current pro bono activities include being a current Vice President and Board member of the World Squash Federation (the international governing body for the game of squash and an associate member of the Association of Summer Olympics International Federations), Chairman of the US Squash Foundation and Treasurer, Finance Chair and member of the Board of the Foreign Policy Research Institute (FPRI). Mark is a former Ph.D. Candidate at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (Economics & Finance), holds an MA from the University of California (Economics) where he was a Chancellor’s Fellow, and is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Reed College (History & Economics).

Prior to graduating from Reed, he studied at the City University of London (History & Economics) and the University of Pennsylvania (Philosophy) where he was a Benjamin Franklin Scholar.
